The Company was incorporated in the year 1960 under the name and style of ORIENT PROPERTIES PRIVATE LIMITED and till the year 1970, the main object of the Company was construction of Commercial Complexes and dealing in REAL ESTATE business.


1971 - The Company diversified and set up a soft drink bottling unit at
Patna in Bihar and consequently the name of the company was
changed to Orient Beverages Ltd., after conversion into a public
limited company in the same year.

1973 - The soft drink bottling unit commenced production under a
franchise agreement with Parle (Exports) Ltd. The Company
bottles and markets Parles brands viz. Thumps UP, Limca, Gold
Spot, Cira, Maaza & Bisleri Soda within the territory allocated
by Parle comprising 23 districts in Bihar. The Company presently
owns 70,000 sq. ft. in two commercial complexes in Calcutta &
devices substantial rental income therefore.

1992 - The Company was able to maintain its sale target of soft drinks
despite competities. The company registered marginal increase
in rental income from its real estate division. During the year,
the company undertook a commercial cum resident building complex
at Patra on joint development basis.

- 40,000 shares allotted to erstwhile shareholders of M/s. Aelpe
Finarie Ltd. on 3.7.1980. 2,00,000 equity shares issued through
prospectus.

1993 - During February/March 1993, the company issued 19,20,000 Rights
equity shares in proportion 8:1, Prem. Rs 5. Another 25,000
shares offered to the employees of the company (only 2,400 shares
taken up).

1994 - Total income at 10.93 acres was lower compared to Rs 14.67 crores
in the previous year. This was attributed to improved
performance of the real estate and soft drink divisions.

1995 - (18 months), the company registered a marginal increase in
production and sales of soft drink. The conversion of Maaza
plant to an aerated driks plant could not be completed on time
due to technical problem in the Filler. During the year, the
real estate division increased the rent after reaching a
settlement with tenements. The company's commercial cum
residential complex at Patna was ready for sale.

2010

- Orient Beverages Ltd has appointed Sri. Akshat Poddar as an 'Additional Director' of the Company with effect from August 12, 2010. Sri. Akshat Poddar has been further appointed as ‘Managing Director' of the Company with effect from September 01, 2010.

2012

-Sri B. D. Mundhra has been appointed as an Additional Director and Executive Director of the Company.

2014

-Company has recommended Dividend @ 5% i.e. Re. 0.50 per Equity Share.
-Dr. Gora Ghose has been appointed as an Additional Director in the category of an Independent Director of the Company.

2016
-Orient Beverages has started the commercial production of new soft drink product.
